Society for Weak and Needy (SWAN) is a social service organization functioning at Veeravanallur in Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu. SWAN is a registered organization under Indian Trust Act 1882 and under Foreign Contribution Act 1876. The chief functionary of SWAN Ms. Helen had been in the religious order for 5 years. Since she wanted to go to the poor and work for their development, she came out and started SWAN during the year 1987, with the support of local people; interested people also came forward to contribute for the functioning of the organization. Initially the work was started around Veeravanallur area and was spreaded now throughout, to ensure the best service ever. The Society for Weak & Needy Trust came into existence in the year of elderly people on October 2, on the day of Gandhi Jeyanthi. SWAN takes away your worries and turns your frowns into smiles. We give you a safe and secure place to reside.

Our Profile

SWAN is filled with love, care, dignity, kindness and blessings. SWAN is a place to call Home. We have a team of committed care assistants to take care of the inmates and are funded by State Government for the maintenance and to take complete care of the elders at the age of 60 years and more. We are now offering our beloved and caring services in a rental building accommodating about 60 members including old people, orphans and mentally disturbed people.
